According to Article 32 of the Law on the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria, all commercial companies are obliged to bring their company contracts, founding acts, internal rules, procedures, and other acts or agreements related to the performance of activity or provision of services in accordance with the new currency.

These changes must be adopted within 12 months from the date of introduction of the euro, but not later than 31.12.2026, with the company’s capital being explicitly stated in euros.

In case of non-compliance with this legal obligation, the Law provides for an administrative penalty of up to 5,000 BGN.
